I had the pleasure of going to Dominica last November 2017 two months after the hurricane. I was heart broken as to what I saw. I documented some of what I saw by photography. The images in this slide really does not show the real destruction and devastation that the people suffered. My real reason for going was to help the people there rebuild some houses and also some repair and for ministry. I was not there alone, we were a team of people most of whom were pastors. The folks there were very friendly and also helpfully, the hospitality was great. Though there was no light in the town we were in except for one percent of the area. There was not telephone except for cell service. The plus was that it had running water all the time except for 1 hour in the morning between 5am and 6am. We had successfully built 3 buildings and repaired some others. Our time spent there we did not have time to tour other parts of the island where we heard some places were worse than where we were, we didn't get to go shopping as there was no place to really. Most businesses were using a generator. I don't see electricity being fully restored in under a years time. It was really heart breaking to hear most of the experiences and stories about them going through the hurricane. My God at times I wore a smile to show the people. The Pastor Mr. Hilton was a very good host and with the help of his family and church members we felt we were home. I pray God will restore this country and it's people mentally, physically and spiritually to better than it was before in Jesus name. If you can help, please help Dominica.
